What We Believe -
based on the scriptures, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He is the Christ, the Messiah and the Savior sent by the Father to this world to save us from our sins (I John 4:14, Matt 1:21). We believe that He lived, died and rose from the dead for our sins, and now resides at the right hand of the Father (Heb 12:2). We devote our lives to Him and His service due to His great mercy, grace and love towards us (Eph 2:8-10).
-
We believe the entire Bible, the Old and the New Testament, is the inspired word of God (2 Tim 3:16-17). The Old Testament was given for our learning and to teach about the coming Christ (Rom 15:4, John 5:39). The New Testament contains the Law of Christ, and is the authority under which we live today (I Cor 9:21). It is the Law for which Jesus gave His life and the Law given for the forgiveness or remission of sins (Matt 26:28).
-
We believe that the Bible is the only authority in all matters of religious faith and practice (Col 3:17).
-
We believe that worship of God must be done as commanded by God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). This means we must come together with hearts of thanksgiving, joy and love, but that we must also offer back to God what He commanded by faith (Heb 11:6). This includes, on a weekly basis- Prayer (I Thess 5:17), Singing (Eph 5:19), Scripture reading (Col 4:16), Preaching (2 Tim 4:2), Giving (I Cor 16:1-2), and The Lord's supper (Acts 20:7).
-
We believe and teach the plan of salvation found in the New Testament- hear the gospel (Rom 10:17), believe in Christ (Mark 16:16), repent of sins (Luke 13:3), confess Christ (Matt 10:32), be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38), live an obedient life/serve Christ (Eph 4:1).
